After months of planning, refining, and designing, Rideboard.org was launched in mid 2026 to provide students throughout the Intermountain West a more accessible and user friendly alternative to Facebook groups and Reddit threads for drivers and riders to find one another.


Terms

§1: Content Licensing

By posting a ride or a request, you grant us a license to share the content you provide in the post. You can revoke this license by deleting your posting, or modify the content by modifying your posting.

§2: Rider Obligations

By accepting a ride, you agree to notify your driver at least three (3) hours before the ride if you need to cancel, and to pay the agreed upon amount for the ride (if any) within 24 hours of the conclusion of your ride, unless other agreements are made with your driver. Your driver shall not require you to pay before the ride begins.

§3: Driver Obligations

By accepting a rider, you agree to notify your rider at least three (3) hours before the ride if you need to cancel.

§4: Safety Exception

Notwithstanding §2 and §3, in the event of a safety issue, neither the rider nor driver will be penalized by us for withdrawing from a ride.

§5: Rule Enforcement

Riders or drivers not abiding by §2 or §3 may lose access to the services, subject to the exception in §4.

§6: Platform Abuse

By using the services, you warrant that you are not collecting data to train generative language models or predictive text models, nor are you attempting to overwhelm or stress test the services.


Privacy

Information We Collect

When you use our services, we may collect information about your device, browser, and internet address and how you use our services (analytical information), as well as any additional information you provide us through your use of the services, such as through posting rides, requests, or reviews (user-provided information).

How We Use That Information

Analytical information may be used to improve our services and help us better understand the use of our services. User-provided information is used to facilitate our services, including making postings available, sending login codes, sending reminders, and following up with users.

How We Share Information

We share user-provided information primarily to facilitate the use of the services. Other instances when we may share information include when presented with a warrant valid in the State of Washington, when we elect to share anonymized information publicly, or in the unlikely event we suffer a data breach.

We will never sell your user-provided information. Funding for Rideboard.org may come from donations, sponsors, or advertisers.
